International Workshop 2022: A creative week!

Following an international remote workshop in 2021 due to the health crisis, Intuit Lab School was particularly delighted to welcome eight artists from diverse backgrounds to its campuses . For this 20th edition, designer Sarah Boris and graphic designer Mantraste traveled to Marseille, while illustrators Barbara Malagoli and Bianca Beneduci Assad , designer Isidro Ferrer , art director Chaittali Patel , and photographers Daniela Ometto and Giovanni Manetti went to Paris. Leading workshops with small groups of students, they shared their world, their expertise, their passion, exchanged experiences, and guided our second- and third-year students in developing their creative projects during this enriching week.

With her universe exploring femininity, astrology, and the cosmos, London-based Brazilian artist Barbara Malagoli shared her infectious passion with the students. "Being with people who are constantly creating brings positive energy," she enthused. Animator and illustrator Bianca Beneduci Assad shared her expertise with her group, whose animated creations can be seen on the Instagram account visualjournaling22 . Photographers Daniela Ometto and Giovanni Manetti brought their photographic style to accompany the students as they explored the Parisian music scene. Using collage, montage, and visual transformation techniques, they transformed their photos into new, sometimes surreal, forms.

Using a variety of materials and objects, the students in Isidro Ferrer's workshop experimented to surprise themselves through creation, while the students in Chaittali Patel's workshop followed the design thinking process. From researching a concept, a name for a country, and its mission, to identifying the problems countries face today, and then shaping these reflections through design, they undertook enriching work. " There are never any wrong ways to create, as long as you listen to your intuition; there are no bad ideas for learning something new. So always explore freely, think freely, because that's how you create unique stories," advises Chaittali Patel, who also teaches at the Intuit Lab School in Mumbai, India.
