Mentalista: Directing Objects Through Thought

Connected brains

During a conference of the start-up Mentalista, our students networked their brains!

The experience is stunning. By sheer force of thought, our students in preparatory class and 2 Master have interacted with connected objects. Bastien Didier, founder of the start-up Mentalista, and Aurélien Pecheux, Project Director, made brainwaves a new playground to control a connected environmente. For the brain to control an object, good mental focus is required. The result is stunning !

Connecting the brain and the machine

In 2017, Bastien Didier founded the mentalist to explore the field of brain-machine interfaces using brain waves as material for analysis and creation. He is now one of the recognized specialists. With his knowledge of programming and mathematics, the designer embarked on neuroscience. With his start-up, he has pulled brainwave technology out of the labs to hijack it of its original purpose. In a fun way like in 2018 with a football mentalista where thought came to replace the foot to move the ball forward. An approach that makes this field of science accessible and allows everyone to interact more instinctively with technology. Art is also for him a collective adventure. He likes to multiply collaborations with other artists to feed his exploration.
