Creative director
At the head of a creative team, the creative director leads and must respect the creative vision of a brand through its media. From design to delivery of the project, he supervises a team of creatives and takes care of follow-up with clients. In charge of creative strategies, he ensures that the client's needs are respected and that objectives are met. If creativity is the engine of this profession, it also brings together a sense of organization, adaptation, knowledge of creative professions but also of marketing and commercial issues.
graphic designer
A graphic designer creates visual communication tools designed to convey a message to a specific target audience. They create print or digital visuals (posters, flyers, magazines, social media content, etc.) in response to client requests. A graphic designer utilizes creative skills, including drawing, transforming ideas into images, and understanding visual codes, as well as technical skills, such as proficiency in software and the graphic design process.
Brand Designer
At the intersection of graphic design, communication, and marketing, the brand designer is responsible for creating a brand's various visual materials, both print and digital. Adhering to the creative strategy, they must effectively implement the brand guidelines while also being proactive in suggesting new ideas. They ensure consistency across all materials and contribute to developing the brand image and its overall strategy. With a view to the brand's economic growth and public reception, the brand designer must also consider the target audience's expectations in their projects.
From concept to execution, the Art Director is a creative force responsible for the visual identity of a brand, product, or event. Through their role, they immerse themselves in the company's project, its spirit, and its objectives in order to propose and manage its brand platform and visual identity.
The DA provides creative responses to projects of different kinds (institutional, promotional, digital) in companies, design agencies, advertising. Whether through the logo, the website, social networks, a communication campaign, packaging or advertising, he applies a coherent and relevant visual universe on all media.
The DA proposes visual and strategic ideas for a project and must convince the company. He also has a manager's cap with a team of graphic designers, photographers, ux designer...
Where to work? In a communications agency, at the advertiser's or as a freelancer.
What qualities? Creativity, a sense of aesthetics, listening skills, curiosity, and rigor.
UX Designer
Digital transformation has given rise to the profession of UX Design. Increasingly in demand, it addresses new needs for designing and optimizing websites and mobile applications. What does it mean to be a UX Designer? It focuses on the user experience by tailoring functionalities to meet user needs and expectations. This involves creating user navigation by organizing graphic and textual elements. UX is the means to solve problems and ensure a smooth user experience on a website or application.
UI Designer
Not to be confused with UX Design—which is complementary but distinct—user interface design focuses on graphic and textual elements. Visual identity, graphic design, and editorial guidelines guide the UI Designer in creating a website or application with a functional and user-friendly design. Why is UI crucial? Working after the UX Designer, the UI Designer visually embodies the interface structure, contributing to its improvement by highlighting features and facilitating navigation. The interface will gain in quality and credibility with users.
Motion designer
Among the new professions resulting from the digital transformation, that of Motion Designer consists of designing graphic, audiovisual and interactive animations. Used for commercials, television, on the web, the Motion Design video format meets multiple needs to share messages in a simple and understandable way.
Illustration, animation, special effects, sounds or typography are used to compose the visual of Motion Design projects.
Typography is a distinct art form within graphic design. Initially a craft before its digital transformation, the typographer's profession involves selecting, creating, and designing typefaces. For the world of publishing, graphic design, signage, and digital media, typography is integrated across all media and contributes to creating a visual identity. To design typefaces, the typographer masters traditional lettering techniques and the principles of layout and printing. Creative and detail-oriented, they propose typefaces that align with a brand's style guide, defining their size, color, and placement for the layout. Before printing, the typographer must ensure the visual harmony and legibility of the characters. Their artistic sensibility is a valuable asset for creating unique typefaces. Typographers typically work freelance or for creative and design agencies.
Web Designer
From the initial design to the final delivery of web interfaces (websites, applications, etc.), the web designer participates in the analysis of functional and technical requirements, the implementation of an architecture, and the application of the graphic identity and user experience. Working within a defined specifications document, they oversee the project, coordinating with digital and marketing teams, as well as clients. With the goal of improving user experience, meeting client needs, or developing a brand image, their role is crucial at every stage of a digital project's development.
packaging designer
Biscuit boxes, perfumes, headphones... Between graphic design and product design, the packaging designer thinks about and designs how a product will be presented and reflect the brand. Thanks to its packaging, a product attracts attention, stands out from the competition, communicates its promise, and conveys the brand image. Respecting a visual identity, embodying a world, transmitting information, customer engagement, eco-design... various parameters must be considered to create packaging that will contribute to the product's commercial success. Packaging is a true communication tool!
Illustrator
An illustrator is recognized by their artistic style and unique world. Whether it's for a book, a newspaper article, a poster, a brand's print or digital communications, an event, or any other project, an illustrator can bring their artistic touch to a variety of media. Gifted with a skilled hand, they master the artistic techniques of drawing as well as digital tools for creating visuals. Alongside their creative work, illustrators must also market their work, develop their client network, and adapt to their clients' needs.
