What is CPF?

The CPF (Personal Training Account) tracks training hours acquired throughout an individual's working life. It is open to all employed individuals, job seekers, self-employed individuals, and freelancers. Its objective is to enable everyone to access training throughout their career, whether to change professions, improve professional skills, or advance within their company. The CPF can be used to finance certified training programs such as those offered by Intuit Lab Pro.

What does this reform consist of?

The government recently proposed a draft decree introducing a flat-rate co-payment of €100 for training courses funded by the CPF (Personal Training Account), aiming to streamline spending related to this scheme within a context of public spending cuts. This means that anyone wishing to use their CPF will have to pay €100 to finance a training course. This measure, scheduled to come into effect on May 1, 2024 , aims to save over €200 million upon its implementation.

What impact on the use of the CPF?

In 2022, the CPF (Personal Training Account) experienced a decline in popularity, with traffic to the official website dropping. The introduction of a co-payment could further jeopardize its use, particularly among those with lower incomes. Currently, the CPF has approximately 1,25 million users, nearly half of whom are women and a third of whom are job seekers . This measure could therefore limit access to training for individuals with the fewest financial resources, thus reducing their opportunities for career advancement.

Concerns about the reform

The remaining charge of 100 euros per training represents a financial obstacle for many people, in particular employees with the lowest incomes. Unions have expressed concerns about its impact on these populations, emphasizing that those who need it most could be hardest hit. Despite the protests, the reform seems to be implemented quickly, without guarantee of exemptions for the most vulnerable populations.

Towards an inclusive solution with Lingueo

Faced with these challenges, a glimmer of hope emerges through Lingueo's initiative. Aware of the issues of accessibility to professional training, this company is considering an innovative solution: the creation of a dedicated support fund. This proposal reflects a vision of equality and inclusion, where access to training is not a privilege, but a fundamental right for all individuals, regardless of their financial resources. By committing to ensuring that the CPF continues to serve the general interest and to leave no one behind, Lingueo embodies a proactive and supportive approach in a context where concerns about accessibility to training are becoming increasingly pressing. .
