BTS graphic design

To know :

The BTS graphic design (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) is a Bac +2 level course which prepares students for careers in graphic design.

It no longer exists under that exact name since the 2019 reform. The BTS and the MANAA (Mise à Niveau en Arts Appliqués) have been replaced by the DNMADE ( Diplôme National des Métiers d'Art et du Design ), a three-year course which combines these two former courses.

However, many professionals and schools still talk about "BTS graphic design", because this training has long been a benchmark in the field.

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, the new BTS in Graphic Design

The Bachelor of Graphic Design (Bac +3) at L'École Intuit Lab is one of the current alternatives to the BTS in Graphic Design. It combines creativity, technical skills, and strategy in a professionally oriented approach.

Its objective is to train versatile graphic designers, capable of designing visual communication projects on various media.

In this bachelor's degree you will learn:

  • The basics of drawing, typography and color

  • Use of professional software (Adobe suite, Figma, etc.)

  • Visual identity design, graphic design posters , publications and digital interfaces

  • Strategic thinking around a brand or message

Unlike the old BTS in graphic design, which was often more theoretical, this bachelor's degree focuses on an active and professionalizing teaching approach. Students benefit from a stimulating work environment, with workshops, conferences, and creative workshops throughout the year.
👉 These events also encourage a graphic design monitoring regular, essential to stay up to date on trends, visual innovations and developments in the design profession.

The classes are small enough to encourage discussion and individual support. Courses are taught by working professionals, and the program includes several internships in companies for a gradual immersion into the world of design.

Continuing studies after a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design

After a Bachelor of Graphic Design , or a BTS in graphic design obtained before the reform, several paths are possible: entering the job market, specializing or deepening strategic and creative skills.

For those who wish to increase their expertise, the Intuit Lab School offers a master's degree in artistic direction (RNCP level 7), accessible directly after the bachelor's or DNMADE.

At the beginning of their course, students choose a specialization from three main areas of design:

  • UX/UI digital design : to design fluid, functional and user-centered interfaces.

  • Media and motion design : to produce animated content, videos and interactive formats.

  • Graphic design : to strengthen one's mastery of visual communication, in print and digital.

This master's degree spans two years and can be completed through a work-study program. It offers a professional format that combines advanced courses with work experience.

This training prepares students to become true artistic directors, capable of leading creative projects with a global strategic vision.
